The L’Atelier du Vin Bilame Signature Corkscrew is designed for one thing: removing corks cleanly, without piercing or breaking them. First patented in 1949, its twin-blade system offers a precise and gentle way to open wine, especially older bottles with fragile corks.
To use it, start by sliding the longer blade between the cork and the inside of the bottle neck. Then insert the second blade on the opposite side. Gently rock the corkscrew up and down while applying light downward pressure until both blades are fully inserted alongside the cork. Once secure, slowly pull upward with a slight twisting motion. The cork will come out intact, without crumbling or falling apart. If needed, the same motion allows you to reinsert the cork to reseal the bottle.
Made from chrome-plated steel, the tool is strong, balanced, and built for control. The black leather sheath protects the blades and adds a refined finishing touch. Every detail reflects its French craftsmanship and long-standing design heritage.
